Student with Down syndrome defeated in high school vote
April 4th, 2009
From the Orange County [CA] Register:
A California student with Down syndrome has lost his bid for student body athletic commissioner at his high school, but says he’ll fight on.
Sean McElwee, 15, of Rancho Santa Margarita, said he’s sad that he lost. He plans to run again next year.
“He wants to do it again,” said mother Sandra McElwee. “That’s one thing about Sean: He has a lot of tenacity.”
