‘Gimp’ dancers seek to challenge preconceptions
March 14th, 2009
From WABC-TV New York:
The Gimp Project, opening this week in New York City, is a dance production that showcases the work of dancers with disabilities, including some with missing limbs.
“This is not a piece people are interested in seeing, people are afraid of it,” said Heidi Latsky, the choreographer and one of the performers. “We really wanted people to think about the title and how does it change what their notion of disability and dance is.”
