March 5th, 2009
From MTV News, MSNBC, Associated Press, and People Magazine:
Musician Scott MacIntyre, 23, has been selected as one of the top 12 finalists on American Idol after performing Bruce Hornsby’s “Mandolin Rain.”
MacIntyre, who has Leber’s congenital amaurosis, is legally blind. His field of vision is about 2 degrees.
American Idol judge Randy Jackson told the Scottsdale, AZ, native that the vocal wasn’t perfect but added, “I know he’s gonna blow up the stage every time.” Host Ryan Seacrest managed to high-five the singer after being ribbed online for unsuccessfully trying the move earlier in the season.

I think Scott is amazing, even without his disability he’d be this far. Blind people rock!
