Exhibit teaches about living with blindness
October 8th, 2008From USA Today:
The “Dialog in the Dark” sensory exhibit, now on display in Atlanta, raises awareness about the experiences of people with visual impairments and sparks conversations about living with disabilities. Guides with visual impairments teach people to rely on their other senses in this exhibit that simulates everyday experiences for one hour in total darkness
“You can’t see a thing, and you become dependent on these guides to be your eyes,” says Cheryl Mure, director of education for exhibit producer Premier Exhibitions, known for its Titanic exhibit. “You gain a respect and begin a dialogue that widens your perception of people with disabilities.”
