‘How’s Your News’ to MTV
May 25th, 2008
BBC’s Ouch website reports that the crew from How’s Your News? is “about to get their own show” on MTV. The group, a cadre of unlikely reporters with disabilities that include Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, has put together newscasts that feature interviews with celebrities, politicians and just plain folks. Their 1999 film was screened at the Toronto Film Festival. A clip from the 2004 campaign season is here. Watch closely for Hillary Clinton and G. Gordon Liddy.
An excerpt from the BBC interview with cast member Jeremy Best:
BBC: So what is all this about MTV and Los Angeles – what’s going on? Are you going to become pop stars or something?
JEREMY: Well I want to be famous, not to be crazy or anything, but this life is great, I don’t have to stay in my room all day being on the computer or doing next to nothing.
… People with disabilities are funny too!
