I am amazed that this chain of comments. Do modern women really think women are incapable of being mothers and career driven? How many other countries in the world have female leaders? The idea that this is in question is absurd. The fact is many families in America (mine included) have both parents working and the kids grow up fine. The nuclear family is not that of the 1950's anymore. Those that are questioning whether to vote Dem or Rep because of this seriously need to re-evaluate their priorities in a political leader.

"How can a woman of five children seek office? "

Wowzer. Great job, assuming a woman can't handle a family AND a difficult job. Just because you don't think you can do it, doesn't mean that some other woman/women can't.

But hey, way to bring down our gender.

Appararently, Trig is actually Palin's grandson. Her 17 year old daughter Bristol missed months of school that year while everyone noted that the governor didn't even look pregnant. Nice cover up.

There are rumors that Sarah Palin's fifth child is really her daughter's child. I hope that the Governor has not resorted to dishonesty to cover up her daughter's pregnancy. I'm providing a link below that makes the case that Trig is not Palin's daughter. I hope for the family's sake that the information at this link is wrong.

well, maybe her multi-tasking skills are first rate. she can push 'the button,' with one hand, burp the baby with the other while cutting dagger eyes at yet one more enemy she'll earn.

In response to the post by Kathryn Roberts. Yes, her husband is capable. He's capable of helping out with the kids while she goes to work. How many male presidential or vice presidential candidates have run for office despite the fact that they had kids? It's ok for men but not for women? Maybe her children are SO important to her that she will actively work towards securing a good future for their whole generation by running for VP of the USA. If you are in a position to make a difference for your family on a larger scale, maybe it's not so fair of us to judge her for taking that opportunity.

I would just like to point out that Michelle Obama has worked most of her life, including after she had children. She quit working to support her husband's race for President. Michelle Obama did not quit working to become a housewife and full time mother.

Mrs. Palin's husband is willing to take care of the kids, what is the difference? It does not mean she will be absent from her children's lives anymore than any other working parent

Is this really your business anyway.

Vote for the candidate you want, but don't try to convince others to adopt your viewpoint that this candidate is neglecting her family. Many may try but I doubt they will succeed in this effort. The entire attitude brings up images of the Saudi Arabian Olympic team. No women, because they are not allowed to play sports. They can only take care of their men and children. Don't think America is ready to go there.
