Governor Palin balances baby, political aspirations
April 21st, 2008
From KTUU-TV, the CBS affiliate in Anchorage, the Fort Worth [Texas] Star-Telegram, and the Wasilla [Alaska] Frontiersman:
Baby boy Trig Paxson Van Palin, the son of Alaska governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd, was born in Alaska the day after his mother delivered a keynote address at an energy conference in Texas and said she would accept an offer by Republican presidential candidate John McCain to share the national ticket as vice presidential nominee.
The governor’s water broke during the energy conference but she stayed and gave a 30-minute speech before boarding an Alaska Airlines plane home to deliver the baby.
An unnamed source close to the family has said early testing revealed Trig Palin has Down Syndrome.
He is the couple’s fifth child. Earlier post here.

I have watched Biden for years in his committee as he ridicules, berates and is completly rude without justification to those before him. He is a jerk. Obama is a fraud, his associations with criminals and racist preachers, his “community activism” which has always been a … term for stirring up rebellion and anarchy, and even Biden saying he is not ready for president. I will take McCain (who is too liberal for me) and Palin. She is proven to be a leader, thinker, a conservative (and is not the jerk Biden is). Even Bill C linton speaking at the DNC poked fun at those who said he was too young and inexperienced to be president. And listen to the Libs howl about Palins “lack of experience” So sad libs, too bad, McCain got over on you.

Did Sarah Palin fake the pregnancy to avoid family shame?
Okay – I started out with “Wow – a new low for the liberals trying Bush’s old S.C. tricks against McCain’s family.” I looked more. This is not only a possibility, but a rather unnerving probability.
DailyKos – leftist, but rather convincing in their argument of this being a sham.
iReport.com – Anybody can write here, but some interesting points are made about the timing surrounding the birth.
I’m not trying to spread rumors. I was excited about Palin and liking her before this was pointed out to me. The woman never showed, never seemed distressed while on an 8-hour flight home from Dallas while IN LABOR, and then chose a remote hospital. Her daughter, Bristol was ABSENT from school for at least 5 months before the birth with “mono” and friends of hers are spilling that she was pregnant.
Too much to handle. I hope it’s not true, but WOW these are interesting points made. I don’t think this makes her a bad person, btw. A caring mom who wanted to avoid a difficult family issue in the public forum. But, why not be honest after the fact

Thanks so much, Patricia for the site addressing disabilities.
I have been disabled my self at one time & we all need to respect Ms. Palin’s compassion & efforts for her child and indeed for any other personal traits that make her a fine person and a governor beloved in ta State with a population of 670,000. She is definitely a lady to watch in her future. She’s only 43 after all!
That said, because I have seen too many elections decided on “like” or “admire” and things going steadily downhill for many years,I have to ask people to consider this question:
If you were hiring a Vice President, would you have called her for a second interview?
Because we are just now being introduced to her, a person with scant experience on the national stage, there’s not ime to see her run a huge operation (like the Obama campaign…)
Joe Biden definitely has the knowledge. Obama sure does now! ANd he was a top student at Harvard Law which is incredibly hard to get into. (BTW he did NOT even check “African American” on his application.)
John McCain obviously was well. But McCain has had melanoma many times, heart trouble. He was tortured and beaten for many years and I’m sure he’s in a lot of pain from that & being old (like me!)He’s 72.
We have to think about it no matter how admirable and promising she may be.
If you read this & considered my little argument, I thank you too! Let’s get our nation back on the right track! Two choices left — OBAMA BIDEN ‘08.
