Three NJ youths charged in sexual assault of girl with disabilities
March 12th, 2008From the New York Times, Newsday:
Three students from Montclair High School were charged on Tuesday with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old special education student at one of their homes last week, prosecutors and the police in the suburban New Jersey community said.
A law enforcement official said the three male suspects — an 18-year-old and two 16-year-olds — forced the girl to perform sex on them and abused her with a broomstick on Thursday afternoon … The three were charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault.
The Essex County prosecutor, Paula T. Dow, did not say why the victim was in special education classes, but did say that some of the charges had to do with the victim’s “diminished capacity.”
