January 21st, 2008Posted on the National Public Radio website, three clips from the documentary by physician/physician Gretchen Berland. She gave video cameras to three Los Angeles residents in wheelchairs and asked them to document their everyday lives. The result is a work that NPR calls “frank and witty, ” that brings us inside “a world most of us do not see.”
Though the film began as Berland’s attempt to document the experience of being in a wheelchair, she says, “In the end, it’s really about life. It’s not about feeling sorry for someone with a disability.”
