A joyful noise: Chorus for people with disabilities

January 20th, 2008

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

A 30-member chorus in Southern New Jersey is comprised of adults with physical and neurological disabilities, and performs throughout the area. For the members, who range in age from 20 to 65, performing with the chorus is a gift as well as an accomplishment.

Next month they perform with composer and conductor Alice Parker at an instructional session of the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Regional Convention. “They are a model for what can be accomplished through choral music,” said Parker.
