Girl with autism longs to fit in
August 27th, 2007Savannah (GA) Morning News columnist Anne Hart writes about a child with Asperger’s syndrome. For this little girl, back to school means back to being bullied.
Money quote from 10-year-old Azrael DuBose, about what she would wish for:
“That kids learn more about autism and not make fun of it.”
Azrael’s dad, an aerospace engineer, also has Asperger’s. Her mom has bought her a t-shirt that reads:
“Asperger’s makes me wonderful.”
