Toledo mayor in parking dilemma
August 10th, 2007Toledo Major Carty Finkbeiner parked his city-leased SUV in a handicapped parking space while he kept a massage therapy appointment on a hot day recently. He also left his dog Scout in the car. Citizens are seething — mostly because they’re concerned about the well-being of the dog. In a satirical column, Scout insists that the citizenry should get over it.
“He’s the mayor. He works hard. Handicapped people should be happy to pitch in by giving him an occasional parking space. Firefighters don’t complain if he parks in a fire lane.”
